Desperate for answers, Mia seeks the help of a local bookstore owner named Evelyn, who introduces her to the occult and provides guidance on how to deal with supernatural entities. However, their efforts to rid themselves of the doll only seem to exacerbate the situation.
As the paranormal activity intensifies, Mia and John are targeted by the demonic entity attached to the doll. They learn that the cultists had summoned a demon known as "the Ram" during their ritual, and it seeks to claim Mia's soul as a sacrifice. In a final confrontation, Mia and John are attacked by the demon in their home. With the help of Evelyn, they manage to banish the entity and destroy the doll, seemingly putting an end to the terror. The film concludes with Mia and John moving to Pasadena, hoping to leave the nightmare behind. However, a post-credits scene reveals that the doll has been acquired by the Warrens, paranormal investigators featured in "The Conjuring" series, who store it in their artifact room for safekeeping.
