After completing his service, Logan walks from Colorado to Louisiana in search of the woman. Eventually, he identifies her as Beth Green (Taylor Schilling) and finds her working at a dog kennel. Beth is initially wary of Logan, but he becomes ingrained in the community, forming a bond with Beth's son Ben (Riley Thomas Stewart) and her grandmother Ellie (Blythe Danner). Logan struggles with telling Beth the real reason he came to find her but begins to fall in love with her.
